Estimate updates live as you toggle features.
Pick all you need. Cross-platform pairs add 1.3×–1.5×.
Each adds days to the estimate.

Lean = ship & iterate. Premium = senior team, design polish, full QA.
Team composition
The core team for this scope.
- Project manager1

- Mobile engineers (iOS + Android)2
- Backend engineer1
- QA engineer1
Phases
How the timeline splits.
- 1Discovery and design2 wks
Scope, user flows and screens agreed before any code.
- 2Build5–7 wks
The features in scope, built and demoed in short sprints.
- 3Testing and launch2 wks
QA, app store submission and release.
Feature breakdown
Per-feature contribution after all multipliers.
Estimates only. Real quotes vary 30–50% based on design fidelity, third-party integrations, regulatory needs, and team composition. Ongoing maintenance, app-store listing, marketing, and security audits are scoped separately. A 30-minute discovery call typically narrows the range by half.
How to use this estimator
- 1
Pick your platforms
Toggle iOS, Android, and/or web. iOS + Android together adds 1.3× (cross-platform native or React Native handles most cases). All three platforms add 1.5×.
- 2
Pick app type and features
Choose MVP, production-startup, or enterprise-grade. Then check off the core features your app needs: auth, payments, real-time chat, maps, offline mode, etc.
- 3
Add AI features (your differentiator)
In the violet AI section, pick the AI capabilities your app will ship with: LLM chat with RAG, voice AI (TTS + STT), AI image generation, content moderation, or custom ML.
- 4
Pick a quality bar
Pick a quality bar: lean (ship & iterate), standard (production-ready), or premium (senior team + design polish).
Frequently asked questions
How accurate is this app cost estimator?
It is a ballpark — typically within ±30–50% of a final quote. The estimator uses our internal benchmarks from 60+ shipped apps (including our in-house product TalkDrill) for per-feature build days. Variance comes from design fidelity (Figma rev cycles), third-party integrations (some payment SDKs are messy), regulatory needs (HIPAA, SOC2), and team composition. A 30-minute discovery call usually narrows the range by half.
Why are India rates so much cheaper than US rates?
Senior engineering talent in India costs less than an equivalent US developer — not because of skill differences, but due to cost-of-living and currency arbitrage. Our team has shipped iOS, Android, and web apps for clients in the US, EU, Singapore, and India using the same engineers — quality is identical, the price is the local cost basis.
What is the difference between MVP, production, and enterprise-grade?
MVP (0.7×): single happy path, manual QA, no error monitoring, ship in 6–10 weeks to validate the idea. Production startup (1.0×): tests, CI/CD, Sentry/Crashlytics, basic admin tooling — what investors and early users expect. Enterprise-grade (1.6×): SSO, audit logs, role-based access, SLAs, compliance docs, dedicated DevOps, security review. Most B2B startups land at production-startup; regulated industries (healthcare, finance, government) need enterprise-grade.
How much do AI features really add to an app budget?
Surprisingly less than people fear, more than they hope. An LLM chat with RAG over your docs is roughly 10 days — using OpenAI or Anthropic APIs plus a vector DB like Pinecone. Voice AI (TTS + STT) is 14 days. Custom ML model training is the expensive one because it includes data collection, labelling, training infrastructure, and evaluation. The recurring cost is what surprises founders — budget for inference.
Does the estimate include app store listings, marketing, or maintenance?
No. The estimator covers the build only. App Store + Google Play submissions add 3–5 days of work (screenshots, copy, ASO, review responses). Marketing budget is entirely separate. Ongoing maintenance is a yearly commitment (bug fixes, OS upgrades, library updates, minor feature adds). We scope these separately during discovery.
Can you build apps with React Native, Flutter, or native Swift / Kotlin?
Yes — we choose the stack based on your needs. React Native is our default for cross-platform (one codebase, ~85% code share, fast hiring). Flutter when the design team wants pixel-identical UI on both platforms or when there is heavy custom UI. Native Swift / Kotlin when you need deep platform integration (CarPlay, Android Auto, complex camera or audio pipelines, or App Clips). The estimator assumes the most cost-effective stack for the feature set you select.
Ready to turn this estimate into a real quote?
Our mobile team has shipped 60+ apps across iOS, Android, and web — including our in-house product TalkDrill (English fluency app for Indian adults, voice AI on React Native). A 30-minute discovery call narrows the cost range by ~50% and gives you a real timeline.
